Daveyton school gets multi-purpose field

Inkatha-ka-Zulu Primary school in Daveyton is the latest school to benefit from the Let’s Play Playing Field Project.

1 136 learners from this school plus 11 Primary schools located in this community, will benefit from this 50m x 20m multi-purpose astro-turf field, a one-of-a-kind facility in Daveyton allowing for soccer, volleyball, netball, basketball and hockey to be played.

Let’s Play coaches will implement fitness programmes and inter-school leagues on Saturdays to instil a culture of sport in the community.

Partners Hitachi Construction Machinery, Builders and Department of Basic Education were joined by the Honourable Mayor of Ekurhuleni, Mr Mzwandile Masina, to officially open and hand over the facility to the school Principal.
